Things To Do On St. Patrick's Day 2021

St. Patrick’s Day isn’t just for kids, in fact, I would argue St. Paddy’s is more of an adult holiday anyways. Finding adult St. Patrick’s Day ideas can be a challenge. There really aren’t a lot of resources out there. However, there are so many things you can do to ensure you have the best St. Patrick’s Day! I’m sharing some of my favorite St. Patrick’s day party ideas for adults.

I know we are still in weird times with the pandemic, however, this list is an accumulation of socially distanced activities as well as regular life for future use! Bookmark this page for all of your St. Patrick’s Day Shenanigans!

1. Host a Green Beer Taste Test for your Adult St. Patrick’s Day Idea

Let’s see who the real beer connoisseur is in the bunch with this St. Patrick’s green beer taste test! Buy a bunch of different types of beers, pour them into some beer steins (make sure you keep track of which beer is which), add some green food coloring, and let the tasting (or chugging) begin! Whoever guesses the most correct beers wins bragging rights!

2. Make Themed Shamrock Body Scrub

Looking for a fun St. Patrick’s Day activity for your girlfriends? Host a ladies night in, complete with wine, green desserts, and this fun DIY.

3. Host a Scavenger Hunt

I personally think these are more fun at a bar or on a bar crawl, but in case that isn’t available, you can easily do this in your own home or neighborhood. A themed scavenger hunt is a fantastic way to get everyone involved. Put things on there like find someone wearing green, get a number from someone who is shorter than you, order an Irish Car Bomb and if you’re really daring, pinch someone that isn’t wearing green.

4. Cook an Irish Meal

No holiday would be complete without coordinating delicious food. On St. Patrick’s Day, try your hand at cooking up some delicious Irish meals. I’m talking corned beef and cabbage, Irish soda bread, and shepherd’s pie.

5. Create a St. Patrick’s Day Cocktail

This Pinch Me Prosecco is perhaps the most adorably-named drink EVER, this Pinch Me Prosecco is a fantastic drink to kick off your St. Patrick’s Day events. In the words of Drake, “You can’t drink all day if you don’t start in the morning.”
Ingredients:

  • 3 ounces Prosecco, chilled
  • ¾ ounce lime juice
  • ¾ ounce simple syrup
  • Lime wheel

You know you’re going to need to add some edible glitter to top this off too, right?

6. Test Your Luck at the Casino

The Irish are no stranger to the gambling community. They mainly bet on horse racing, hurling, and rugby but they dabble in slot machines all the same too. For extra luck maybe try one of the machines with a cute Leprechaun on it. Bingo could also be another alternative, but you have to dress up if you even want a chance at winning.

7. Make green pancakes infused with Guinness beer

Pancakes: one of the easier desserts to make. Guinness: one of the more difficult beers to drink. Together: one of the best things you’ve ever tasted. Seriously, these green Guinness-infused pancakes for St. Patrick’s Day are really all you need to start the holiday off right.

8. Look up St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawls Near You!

St. Patrick's Day Bar Crawls

If there is one thing any town or city knows how to do, it is a St. Patrick’s Day bar crawl. Most of these are organized by event panning companies. You meet up with fellow holiday drinkers (like yourself), go from bar to bar, and enjoy drink specials all night long! Local bars are always fun to hit up during the holidays. Have a contest for the “greenest” person at the pub. Everyone else has to treat this person like a king or queen all night.

9. Run in a 5K

I’m sure there is some sort of quirky Leprechaun 5K or “Pot of Gold” run you can sign up for in your area! Grab your friends, put on a green tutu, and cross that finish line. The best part is t=you can snag a nice cold green beer at the end of the run!

10. Sing the Irish Songs

Rent out a karaoke room and either sing only Irish songs OR sing in an Irish accent! Bonus points if you order Irish whiskey for a little liquid courage too.

11. Paddy’s Day Beer Pong

Who doesn’t love a classic game of beer pong? Ah, those flashbacks to college. To make a regular game of beer pong a little more St. Paddy’s Day-appropriate, opt for green cups instead of the classic red. Fill the cups with Guinness and draw little Shamrocks onto the ping-pong balls. It’s simple, easy to play, and will get the whole gang involved.

12. Throw a St. Patrick’s Day Party for Adults

Sometimes a simple themed party to gather friends and family is all you need on a holiday like St. Patrick’s day. There are only a few rules. Everyone must dress in theme, everyone must bring an Irish dish, and everyone must do a shot. After all, that’s what St. Patrick’s Day is all about! As a host, make sure you go hard on the decorations. It’ll really hype up the mood. Make sure you have a corn hole set ready to rumble too!

13. St. Patrick’s Day Pub Golf

Pub golf is a drinking game where nine (or eighteen) pubs are selected, creating a “course” to be played on. It is essentially a pub crawl made into a game. Unlike the actual game of golf, pub golf does not involve a ball or fairway, but extensive drinking rules. Each sip counts as one stroke. Choose your drink wisely! The less sips the less points, and we all know how golf is played.

As you can see, there is a lot of fun behind St. Patty’s Day adult activities. Enjoy these activities as much as you can on the very greenest day of the year.
