Girl talk has commenced. Repairing damaged hair is extremely difficult, and the hardest part is being consistent with a routine long enough to see a change in your hair! I’ve so been there. My hair was dry and brittle on the end and so oily on top I couldn’t go more than 1 day without washing. I tried everything from salon products to DIY hair masks. Until I finally learned the secrets of successful hair care, which is what I am sharing with you here!

Our hair is 90% of our selfies so we have to take care of it! In this blog post, I’m sharing the 7 secrets I learned the allowed me to repair my damaged hair back to a healthy state.

So, if you’re tired of your ends always breaking off at your shoulders, resulting in the semi-annual chop from your hairdresser, this post is for you. You’ve tried everything. You never use heat, you let your hair grow without a trim for years, then get trims every six weeks, throw your hair into a ponytail more often than your inner fashionista wanted to. You’re over it all. All of that is about to change for good.

Repairing Damaged Hair: Tips and Tricks To Growth
  1. Always use a heat protectant spray or cream. Bonus points for one without silicones/waxes because then this will allow you to turn the heat down on your appliance. Don’t every apply heat without some sort of protectant.

2. I personally invested in an Air Dry Cream which gives me a more polished look to my natural hair. Eliminating heat tools all together some days!

3. Be so, so, so, so, so gentle with your ends. Even if you think you’re doing it already, be even more gentle than you think. You need a detangler. Do not force anything through tangles. Use a wide-tooth comb for any type of tangles. Work your way from the bottom up. A leave-in-conditioner is great for tangling assistance as well as extra protection and hydration. Both dry hair and wet hair can easily snap.

4. Silk pillowcases are non-negotiable. They protect your hair from unnecessary tangles and prevent additional breakage. Your hair can’t catch on anything. Silk scrunchies are your new best friend. Throw away your small, tight hair ties. You fabric-based hair ties if you are sleeping with your hair in a bun.

5. Make sure you get frequent trims! I know they suck, but they get rid of the damaged hair so healthy hair can grow! Using a split end mender can help with preventing any further breakage too. Clinically proven to mend split ends back together.

6. If you’re bleaching your hair, and your hair is already dried and damaged, give it a rest. The key to repairing damaged hair is weekly Oil treatments. These are going to be your new best friend. Apply them once or twice a week.

I go even more in-depth into the 101 uses of Rejuveniqe Oil in my blog post.

7. It’s not your hair, it’s your hair products. The wrong hair products can easily suffocate your scalp with build-up over time. Imagine pouring wax and tar on your fresh green grass and expecting it to grow… stop treating your scalp like it doesn’t matter because it’s covered with hair. Your scalp is an extension of your face, so take care of it like you take care of your skin.

8. Take your vitamins! Drinking water is essential always, but while you’re gulping down that water, drinking collagen or a collagen builder is great for your hair and skin. Adding in some vitamin B, D, E, and Zinc are additional goodies for your hair and skin too!

And hey, give it a bit of time. Don’t get impatient and screw up your progress because you are not getting instant results. It took a while to damage your hair, it will absolutely take longer than a month to see progress.

I want this for you, too! If you’re ready to ditch the drugstore products, get control of your hair care routine, and learn how to make your products work instead of fighting it, I urge you to get started with your custom beauty regimen now.
