It is only natural for brides to spend more on their skin, hair, and wellness leading up to their wedding . I am determined to get that beautiful wedding glow everyone is always talking about. Recently, I saw a TikTok on @JenCardone’s wedding page that mentioned in the pre-wedding skincare prep, brides should include major skincare steps like facials, massages, and botox in their wedding budget.
This is a great opportunity to dabble in a more luxurious skincare regimen leading up to the wedding. I know I am. That is why today I’m sharing my wedding prep skincare routine and four things I am doing to ensure my skin radiates on my wedding day. I’ve linked all of these items in my shop too!
Pre-Wedding Skin Prep Tip
One thing I think needs to be said before any skincare practices are discussed is that consistency is key here. You cannot pick these items up one week before your wedding and expect them to work overnight. You will see some improvements over time! Glowing skin takes time to deliver results. Trust the process, and stick with it.
1. Add in a Vitamin C
Vitamin C is the ultimate product to help with evening out your complexion and adding a literal glow to your skin. I’ve found the C. Radiance Illuminating Serum from Monat works wonderfully on my sensitive skin. This supercharged 15% vitamin C serum features powerful antioxidants to help brighten and enhance your complexion revealing a healthy, youthful-looking glow. This has helped to combat my sometimes dull, lack luster complexion and makes me feel all bright, happy, and shiny again once I’ve used it. Plus it smells like an orange field.

2. Regular Deep Cleaning Facials
Deep cleaning facials are a great idea to get every 3 months because they are the perfect treatment for dull, tired and clogged skin caused by dead cells and product buildup. The main focus is on extractions and clearing the pore.
For me, this looks like milia removal. Milia develop when tiny skin flakes become trapped in small pockets near the surface of the skin. I found an esthetician that helps me remove them which has really evened out my skin tone. I do this about once every three months. This way the deep rooted mili have time to come to the surface. Milia is one of my personal skin struggles but some brides might opt in for micro needling, botox, or other services. Seeing an esthetician should be a nonnegotiable in your wedding budget.
Bridal tip: When scheduling your last check-in with your esthetician leading up to your wedding, MAKE SURE you leave enough time to heal prior to your wedding. The last thing we need is a bride with microneedle marks because she got it done 3 days before.
3. Adding in a Bakuchiol
Bakuchi-what? Bakuchiol is a vegan retinol alternative. This is a major step for me in my wedding -prep skincare routine as it helps reduce the appearance of age spots, uneven skin tone and texture, fine lines, and wrinkles. I found that retinol was a little harsh on my skin and you have to be super consistent with it for it to be effective. What sold me was the fact that in a clinical study, 100% of participants reported a reduction in the appearance of aging spots in only 14 days. I can say I have noticed a huge difference when I apply this every night. Especially since my sunspots like to flare up in the summertime.
4. Prevent Scarring with Pimple Patches
Unfortunately, no matter how good your skincare is, pimples are inevitable. Whether they’re hormonal, diet, or a common acne struggle, they will pop up. It is important to remember not to pop them because popping leads to scarring. One product I found that really does the trick is the Heroes Cosmetic Mighty Patches. These visibly flatten and pull gunk out of pimples overnight – so you can wake up to clearer-looking skin. A night-before-the-wedding essential as well as great for prevent acne scarring.
Here are a few before and after’s from some friends who have used these products.
