They say you only want something when you can’t have it, well right now I really want a vacation. Currently, we are all dreaming going on some sort of adventure. Being stuck inside while this virus is taking over makes me want to head off on vacation more than I have ever wanted to before. I am daydreaming about adventurous excursions, lying on a beach, or even backpacking through Europe. Not the real kind of backpacking, the kind where you have a suitcase and nice hotel rooms, haha.

I think the one thing we are all going to need after quarantining for a few months is a vacation. I’m trying to get ahead of the curve and get my planning done now, so MAYBE I can still take advantage of the cheaper flights?
Here is a list of some of the top options that you and I both can choose from if were in need of some much-needed some inspiration:

An Extraordinary Cruise

Confession time: I have never been on a cruise before. I kept saying how I wanted to do one of those three-day cruises before committing to a big cruise since I haven’t done so well on boats, but now, I am ALL IN! Cruises are a wonderful way to see numerous destinations, relax and enjoy a form of travel unlike any other. And with so many different locations and types of cruises available, you’re bound to find the right one for you. I’m leaning towards the Mediterranean, but the Caribbean is a close second.
There are so many cruise options, like a family-friendly vacation on a Disney Cruise, an adults-only romantic cruise or want to satisfy your wanderlust craving with an all-out two-week cruise across a destination that you’ve never been too before, there’s something out there for you.
There are plenty of resources for cruising tips, deals and updates on news surrounding cruising (such as EatSleepCruise.com).

A Road Trip

This is probably the most ideal option after a pandemic that caused the world to social distance. Ease into your vacations! If you’re looking for something a little safer, then why not plan an unforgettable road trip? No matter where you’re located in the world there will be a road trip route for you. Whether you’re looking to venture to the mountains, a beach, the dessert or another type of destination, a road trip is a great way of doing this.
Opt to stay in a hotel along the way or sleep in your car/RV, you’ll see so many incredible things that you would have missed by taking an airplane. There are quite a few USA circular route trips that start and end you at your starting destination.

A City Break

If you love history, architecture and discovering local culture, then why not choose a city escape? Whether this is in your country or a foreign one, you’re bound to have a wonderful time exploring. Typically these are quick action-packed trips. You cram a lot into one day or one trip.
This gives you the opportunity to escape your hometown for a while; even if your hometown is a city. I live in Las Vegas and I am always looking to go to other cities.  There are so many fabulous cities across the world to discover – Austin, TX, and Nashville, TN are the next on my list.

A Tropical Getaway

Honestly, I am biased towards these vacays. If relaxation is what you’re looking for, then a tropical getaway is just the ticket. Giving you the chance to unwind on a sunny beach with a cocktail or soft drink in your hand, you can let the worries of everyday melt away as you take in the scenic views.
However, these tropical getaways don’t always come cheaply. Look for package deals that bundle together flights and hotels. I also think all-inclusive hotels are the WAY TO GO. Then you only have to worry about spending money. Now I am dreaming of the days I can slip on a swimsuit and take a dip in the pool!

A Themed Vacation

If you’re on the hunt for a vacation that suits your tastes down to a tee, then look no further than a themed vacation! Whether you fancy a spa vacation or one that’s themed all-around wine and food, there’s a vacation out there for you. There are a bunch of hotels all around that are themed to really amp up your experience. Focusing your trip around an event or concept like a bachelorette party, a wine tour, an outdoor experience helps you find activities to accompany that experience.
I hope this at least gets us thinking about what we want to do and where we want to go. Money might be tight for some of us, but dreams are never short. It is good to keep the brain stimulated and always wanting more! Where do you want to head off to?
