Coconut Sugar + Rejuveniqe Oil is like magic for dry, chapped lips! If you are looking for a natural, plant-based sweetener to keep your blood glucose and energy levels up, coconut sugar is the ideal choice. Coconut sugar is a common ingredient in my household and pairs really well with honey for a lovely little lip scrub.

What does a homemade lip scrub do?

The coconut sugar sweeps away dead skin cells to help make your lips smooth. According to Vaseline.com, lip scrubs are a type of mechanical exfoliation, meaning it physically removes dead skin cells (vs. chemically). Properly exfoliated lips better absorb the oil.

How often should you exfoliate with a homemadr lip scrub?

Exfoliating with a lip scrub is good for softening and smoothing lips before applying lipstick, or when your lips are dry and peeling from cold wind or prolonged sun exposure. Don’t exfoliate more than twice a week. Start with once a week so you avoid irritating your lips. Also, be careful not to scrub too hard.

How do you use a homemade lip scrub?

First, wet lips (wetting them prevents abrasive friction). Then, apply your homemade lip scrub directly onto damp lips. The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) advises using small, circular finger motions for about 30 seconds before rinsing off with lukewarm water.
