Making a homemade lip scrub is one of the simplest DIY projects to do. I made a “No Scrubs” lip scrub for my bridesmaids and it was a hit. Making a lip scrub with coconut sugar is very simple and it is naturally ingredient friendly with a ton of properties that act as double agents.

What does a homemade lip scrub do?
The coconut sugar sweeps away dead skin cells to help make your lips smooth. According to Vaseline.com, lip scrubs are a type of mechanical exfoliation, meaning it physically removes dead skin cells (vs. chemically). Properly exfoliated lips better absorb the oil.
How often should you exfoliate with a homemadr lip scrub?
Exfoliating with a lip scrub is good for softening and smoothing lips before applying lipstick, or when your lips are dry and peeling from cold wind or prolonged sun exposure. Don’t exfoliate more than twice a week. Start with once a week so you avoid irritating your lips. Also, be careful not to scrub too hard.
How do you use a homemade lip scrub?
First, wet lips (wetting them prevents abrasive friction). Then, apply your homemade lip scrub directly onto damp lips. The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) advises using small, circular finger motions for about 30 seconds before rinsing off with lukewarm water.

Ingredients:
2 TBSP Coconut Sugar
2 Dropperfulls of Rejuveniqe Oil
1.5 TSP of Coconut Oil
1.5 TSP of Locally Grown Raw Honey
How to Make a Coconut Sugar Lip Scrub
- In a bowl combine, coconut sugar, Rejuveniqe Oil, coconut oil, and raw honey.
- Mix together with mashing tool (or your clean hands are fine too!)
- Transfer into aluminum tin
- Label and decorate the top
