You already have an amazing fiancé, a gorgeous engagement ring, and maybe even some preliminary ideas for your special day. But you can’t say ‘I do’ without your closest friends by your side! When it’s time to put your wedding party together, make the moment memorable for those in your “I DO Crew.” Bridesmaid proposal boxes is a fun and thoughtful way to let your friends know how much you value their support as you plan your wedding.
Some Bridesmaids Proposal Box Ideas to Consider
After extensive research, and by research I mean Pinteresting, I have found some really fun and new ideas for my bridesmaids proposal boxes. Here are a few things I took into consideration when building mine.
- I opted to customize items with their names instead of the word “Bridesmaid.” This way they can use the item beyond my wedding season.
- Invest in a Cricut. The fabulous Cricut machine is a wedding planning holy grail. This allowed me to easily customize a lot of my decor and bridal pieces, addressing letters when needed, and helped me cut down in other areas of my wedding budget.
- Big and lavish is fun and Instagrammable but sentimental and small can be just as impactful . If you want to throw a big bash to ask your bridesmaids, by all means go for it! I love a good celebration. However, I found one on one meet ups or smaller groups allow your peeps to really feel special and honored to be included. There will be plenty of time for celebrating with everyone at the other festivities.
- Ask your crew after you have a date set. This is just so they can make sure they plan accordingly. There are a lot of responsibilities (time wise, financially, etc.). I would hate for them to say yes and then not be able to attend because they have a major life event going on in their lives. This being said, if their participation is of the utmost importance, throw some wedding dates their way and make sure all is good!
What to put in a bridesmaid proposal box
Bridesmaid boxes are the perfect way to “propose” to your soon to be bridesmaids, but what do you put in a bridesmaid proposal box? Today I’m sharing with you how I came about my own bridesmaid proposal boxes and some of my favorite ideas for box fillers.
1. A Sweet Treat to Eat or Drink
I don’t care what diet you’re on, everyone will love a sweet treat in their box. I placed a hostess snowball in my bridesmaid boxes because my fiance proposed to me in the snow under the Northern Lights. This was just a sentimental piece that made me happy to tie in. Although, I’m a little upset Hostess stopped making the white snowballs for aesthetic purposes. 😛 If you cant think of something sentimental to tie in then things like champagne gummy bears, ring pops, or fancy truffles are an item you cant go wrong with.
2. Self-Care is the Best Care
I made “No Scrub Lip Scrubs” (recipe here) for my I DO Crew. We all love a good self-care moment so I wanted to make sure that they dedicated that time to themselves. Plus, none of us want no scrubs.
3. Luggage Tags
More and more wedding festivities are taking place out of your immediate area. What does this mean? Pack those bags! Get your crew excited about traveling with a cute personalized luggage tag that they can slip on their suitcase. Plus who doesn’t love a matching bridal crew bag tag at the baggage claim. I bought some blank leather tags on Amazon and used my Cricut to help me do the rest!
4. Something homemade.
I absolutely fell in love with these custom name bobby pins I saw on Pinterest, but getting 8 custom hair pins was very expensive. I decided to try to make them myself. They were so simple and saved me so much money! All you need is:
- A-Z Full Rhinestones 10mm Slide Alphabet Letters
- 50 Pcs Jumbo Bobby Pins Metal Hair Pins
- Metal Glue
- Small Pliers
Checkout my TikTok tutorial for more info on how to make your own hair pins.
5. An Information Card.
This was such a cute way to let my bridal party know the expectations up front. Since I’m doing more of an I Do Crew concept this was helpful in delegating roles out to all my wonderful ladies! You can create your own in Canva or head to Etsy and buy the design for under $5!
