I don’t know about you guys but I have been dealing with the ever-evolving maskne, and it’s been very very frustrating. Getting rid of mask acne is a though practice. Through a lot of trial and error, I’ve found few products that have helped get rid of my maskne and I want to share those with you.
Just recently I went skiing and I had my mask on my face the whole time. When it came time to leave and we got back to the car, I pulled my mask off and a giant pimple appeared. When I say giant I mean I think there were like 3 pimples underneath this one pimple. All from ONE DAY of skiing. Yikes.
My honker is here. It has arrived. So I am going to combat it with my maskne treatment.
The best products to get rid of mask acne
I also have a video out with step by step instructions that you can find here.
First things first, girl, wash your face.
Use any gentle facial cleanser. A gentle cleanser can help remove excess oil, sweat, and bacteria. Avoid cleansers that contain alcohol or perfume. These ingredients can cause irritation and make it harder for your symptoms to heal.
I personally use a gentle, anti-aging, non-toxic cleanser. It’s the bee’s knees for my sensitive skin. This will kick start your Maskne combat process and give you a clean slate to work with.
The Berry Scrub: Exfoliate and Hydrate
Get yourself a berry scrub. It is so gentle on your face. The berry scrub uses cranberry seeds versus microbeads which are those little plastic balls you find inside drugstore exfoliants. Those can be very very harsh on your skin causing your skin to dry out and therefore extorting all of the natural oils from your face.
I would hate that journey for you.
You want to keep your natural oils on your face. Not strip them. The berry scrub hydrates and removes dead skin cells all in one scrub. It smells delicious too. It’s like a smoothie for your face + it has so many more additional uses!
After you have cleansed your face, you will exfoliate with the berry scrub. This also acts as a mask too. Leave the berry scrub on for 5-10 minutes and then wash it off.
Applying the Mighty Patch
This is a very important step because a lot of times we fall right into our original skincare routine. However, here, you do not want to apply any of your moisturizers or serums prior to applying your pimple patch.
You just freshly exfoliated your mask acne and now you want to protect it from having anything else get in there. Take your Mighty Patch, lay it down overtop of your pimple, press, and hold for 30 seconds. Let the magic begin. You leave your pimple-covered overnight or 6-8 hours.
Get Plenty of Sleep
Rest is so good for the skin. Get a good night’s sleep. I have nothing further on this. 🙂
Remove your Pimple patch
When you wake up, you will see that a white substance has formed inside your patch. Oh yeah, baby. That’s all that good stuff. Made of premium medical-grade hydrocolloid, Mighty Patch effortlessly sucks all the pus out of your pimple while you sleep — so you can wake up to clearer-looking skin. These are also latex-free!
Final Step: Rescue Your Pimple
Most of the time your pimple still needs a little healing. That is where the Rescue Balm comes into play. You are re-exposing your pimple to the world once you remove your patch. Protect it from being an open wound again.
Rescue Balm is your #1 post-blemish essential. Zits can leave you with bumps, spots, texture, and scarring that lasts weeks. Rescue Balm is the post-blemish hero we deserve! The formula works daily to replenish skin with all the nutrient-rich moisture it craves, so it looks its best in days, not weeks.
There you have it, friends. Your pimple should really calm down after you gave it this goddess-like treatment. The best part is you can do this over and over again. If you have a stubborn pimple, like I typically do, every other day you can do this routine all over again. Some pimples just want to hang out, but we need to let them know who is boss.
