Stop Binging Netflix and Spice Up Your Weekdays.

How often do you go home from work and go straight to the Netflix app? Hell, I do it. I’m really trying to get out of the habit of binge-watching TV shows on streaming apps. I feel like so much of my time has been wasted on shows I’ve already seen but sometimes after I’ve finished work, and I’m still full of energy what do I turn to?

Here are just a few ideas to hopefully inspire you to spice up your weekdays. Don’t worry, the boss won’t mind.

Get Yourself a Wine Subscription

Do you like to drink? If you’re still paying attention to my blog and you don’t like to drink, kudos to you, but I have a pretty good grip on my audience and let’s face it, we’re all drinkers in some way shape or form. You’re often at your best when you’re a little bit tipsy! Of course, drinking on weekday evenings might not be the best idea in the long run, but when you’ve got a regular subscription to look forward to, there’s a lot of fun to be had!

There are all sorts of alcohol gift boxes out there, whether you’re someone who likes craft beer or a bit of gin and tonic, but wine is always the most popular option. if you fancy getting a good drink through your mailbox, check out this Firstleaf wine club review. Even if you don’t utilize the product on a weekday, there’s still the weekend! Just make sure I catch an invite though.

Book Reading over Binge-Watching

Put down the remote and pick up that book. Play book bingo with a group of supportive book readers at all levels.  We are all dealt randomized bingo cards with all of the same 24 book reading options. Each month a new square is drawn. If you read a book in the category that is drawn you mark off the square. Once you have 5 in a row you win!

Play a Bit of Dress Up!

If I come home from work and I have makeup on my face and energy in my body, you better believe I am about to plan the whole next pay period of outfits. Dressing up isn’t just for the kids. It’s something we still do as adults. Get some of your favorite outfits out and mix and match the pieces together. Take some photos and stick them up on Instagram stories to see what other people think of your combos as well. It’s always a lot of fun to see other people’s reactions and responses to your creativity!

Midweek Concerts

Midweek concerts are so much fun, don’t go too late, and are REALLY inexpensive. You would be surprised how much a ticket for a headliner could be if the concert is in the middle of the week. Get off work, go get ready and head down to the venue, youll be at home and in bed before 11.

Get Physical

Take up ballroom dancing, get involved in a bowling league, set up a bi-weekly game of touch football. Physical games release endorphins automatically putting you in a good mood. Once a week classes will keep you on a schedule and provide you a little time to not be cooped up in the house.

Cook Up A Storm

My favorite thing to do for dinner is breakfast for dinner. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and I feel like people are always trying to cut it out, or don’t make time for it. Make time for it during the weekdays!

Maybe breakfast isn’t your thing but cakes, chocolate pieces, cookies, cheese twists, vol au vents etc. They’re all much easier to whip up than you think and if you make too much you’ll have leftovers for lunch the next day.

Take a class and learn something new

Rec centers are a perfect way to get into a new hobby or regenerate an old hobby while being low commitment. They have a variety of classes to choose from like drawing, new languages, aromatherapy, playing instruments; the list can go on. Who knows, you might just walk away learning something.

Do yoga before bed

Whether your gym days are reserved for the weekend or not, 15-20 minutes of yoga or meditations before bed can be so soothing for the body. Give your brain a little time to relax by blocking out the screens and soaking up the energy. It will make your chaotic week fly by.

Your weekday evenings don’t have to stay the same every week. Branch out from the usual Netflix binge and happy hour. Spice up your weekdays a little with some new activities, and have fun.

  1. Love doing something new or trying new food. Also, I wouldn't mind a cocktail 🙂
